Winemaking
The Syrah from Page Nord Vineyard was
harvested on 10/15/2003, cold soaked for 2 days before being
fermented for 13 days with the maximum temperature of 88
degrees.
The malolactic fermentation took place in the
barrel. The wine was racked 4 times before being bottled in August of 2005.
Tasting Notes
A warm summer and the severe crop thinning has resulted in intense and
concentrated Syrah of depth and length. It displays complex aromas of
cassis, blackberry, blueberry and spice. It is rich, chewy and
dense with cassis, blackcurrant and vanilla flavors, followed by ripe, well-integrated tannins that lead to a
long finish. We believe patience will be well rewarded with
this beast of a wine.
